Blepharoplasty refreshes the upper or lower eyelid by removing or repositioning excess skin and fat.
The plan is drawn around the natural shape of your eye, so the gaze opens without looking altered.
Upper and lower lids are decided separately: a heavy upper fold is not the same as fullness under the eye. The visit looks at how the lid sits when you look up and down, and at dryness or irritation that would change the plan. You are told what the first days of swelling look like, that the aim is a more open eye rather than a different one, and that a brow or a full lift is a different conversation if that is where the heaviness actually starts.
Healing, scarring, and how much can be done are explained before you decide. The result depends on your anatomy and on how you heal.
