The sequence is set before the first step: whether a temporary tooth is needed, how long the implant is left to settle before the crown, and what eating and cleaning ask of you in between. Neighbouring teeth and the gum line are part of that plan, so the crown is not drawn as if it stood alone. If the bone needs more time, or an implant is not the clearer choice, that is said at the consultation.
